The Cicadas provided a lot of interest in science. Everyone was excited
about them being all over the sidewalks, trees, etc. There was a lot of sharing of information and samples.

Mrs. Waters and Lauren are enjoying a happy moment together. Lauren's mother was
in Mrs. Waters' class when she attended Sugar Plum Tree. It is so wonderful to see the cycle starting all over again. Our Kindergarten has a maximum of 15 students.
The Teacher has a Masters
Degree in Early Childhood/Special Education.
We follow the Illinois Learning Standards for Early Childhood/Kindergarden.

Physical
education is an important part of our day. The children have opportunities to ride the bicycles & scooters, climb
on the climbing gym, do somersaults on the mats, play games with the parachute, play circle games, and use their imagination.
In the winter the gym is a wonderful place to run and use their energy constructively.

Our Kindergarten teacher is very creative with her teaching methods and the children
are well prepared for the next stage of development. Mrs. Nancy is trying out a new material in a workshop at our school
for the staff. The children had a good time being creative too.

One
of the highlights of the holiday season was making the Gingerbread houses for the parents. It was a process that took
three days because they had to dry between appications. The most fun was decorating the houses with all the delicious
candy. I'm sure some of the candy found its way into the childrens mouths. Yum!
